Vulnerabilities of bookmakers: zero margin, long-term bets, statistics

Margin 0%

Margin is one of the main tools in the work of a betting company. With its help, bookmakers cover “weak” positions, beat off hunters until they find obvious mistakes in the line, and beat players at a long distance.

But marketing dictates its terms, and the competitive environment forces companies to follow them. This is how zero margin conditions for top matches appear. There is no need to look for them, they are always in a conspicuous place with characteristic marks. This is the pride of the bookmaker and at the same time his weak point.

True, the zero margin vulnerability is very narrow. Most often it concerns only the main market for outcomes.

The main advantage of this vulnerability is impunity. The volume of bets on top matches is so large that the bookmaker easily covers all his losing positions by changing the odds and subsequent bets on the opposite outcome.

Long-Term Betting: A Zero-Day Vulnerability

A new type of value betting for players is long-term bets. Long-term rates are the so-called “zero-day vulnerability”. A situation where mistakes are inevitable due to the lack of the necessary information background. Mistakes cannot be avoided, they can be corrected only after the first large bets of players, who are still few in number – outrights are not the most popular market.

Sooner or later, bookmakers will learn to use proactive error protection technologies in long-term bets. But while it is value, and it is foolish to neglect it.

The main advantage of this vulnerability is impunity. Bookmakers consider outrights to be fun bets, and they don’t find fault with such bets.

Bet on Statistics: 38th Parallel

Unlike long-term betting, betting on statistics has long been allowed by fans to catch the bookmaker on a mistake. Companies, in turn, closely monitor such rates and mercilessly “cut” the limits for successful players.

The conditional “38th parallel” in betting on statistics lies between betting on standardized offers (corners in football, removals in hockey, accurate throws in basketball, etc.) and bets on advanced status (offsides, throw-ins, throw-ins, double faults , video previews, etc.). The truce is very fragile. But in Korea, the 38th parallel has been operating for 70 years, from 1953 to this day. The same is true for a bookmaker with a player: you can bet, but very carefully, do not cross the 38th parallel.

The vulnerability of the bookmaker in betting on advanced statistics is explained by the banal lack of correct information. An example is offside in football. When placing a line, bookmakers are guided by the total offsides of each team, and this is not entirely true. Offsides depend not only on the style of play of a particular club, but also on the style of play of the opponent. It’s the same with any advanced stat: there are weak points, and players work on them with great pleasure.

Vulnerability Benefit – Can be used by any player with the usual public information, but using it from the right angle.

Small Markets: Restricted Area

But the place where you won’t be able to win regularly is definitely small markets, unpopular markets: lower divisions, unknown championships, regional tournaments, etc. In fact, the category of “small markets” is more extensive. This can include the above bets on advanced statistics, and major tournaments in non-promoted sports, and much more.

A small market is a sporting event where there is little and infrequent bet, and small amounts can be bet.

You can win on the small market according to the standard scheme: find important information, interpret it correctly, and place a bet. There is only one difference: here the player can really be faster and more knowledgeable than the bookmaker, and certainly have an advantage. True, finding such information is a whole art that requires time and effort.

If you play only on small markets, and go in the black, then the attention of the bookmaker is immediately attracted to you. The game is evaluated, studied. In most cases, such accounts are immediately “cut” (a meager maximum bet limit is set), and this is where the winning streak ends.

If a player enters such markets, he automatically enters the restricted area, where plus characters are especially disliked. You can walk through the minefield, but not for long.

Epilogue

Bookmakers are not perfect, we started the story with this. Vulnerabilities in the lines and murals exist, that’s a fact. It is curious that all four indicated vulnerabilities of bookmakers are their marketing “chips”.

In fact, this is a conscious vulnerability. Opening loopholes for old players, bookmakers attract new ones.

All BC pain points have positive and negative points for the player. These are the rules of the game, you need to familiarize yourself with them, digest them. We hope this article was helpful, as it would be unethical of us NOT to write about it.

Remember!

Betting is fun. But in your favorite hobby you have to be the best!
